lovely. but BMW isn’t as good as audi when it comes to blue.

Looks like half a shade lighter/bluer than Carbon Black.

Uh...that’s objectively wrong.
Audi has, what, one noteworthy blue? Nogaro? Which is blurple.
BMW has Tanzanite:
Long Beach:
Estoril:
Atlantis:
Laguna Seca:
Atlantic:

That looks oddly close to the Imperial Blue Metallic on my Silverado.

Oh yes they are, that’s just not a competing color. Laguna Seca Blue and Estoril Blue come to mind.

No, that’s Audi’s specialty. My dad’s Moonlight Blue Metallic S8 requires some intense editing to bring out any of the blue:

When I was shopping for mine I found one that color and in black,(used of course) the black car had fewer miles and was $1000 less so I got the boring color.

More like 3/4. Plus it has the blue flake in it. It’s a breathtaking color.

A lot of their individual colors and special cost colors start with a normal base coat and get either a special flake or special overcoat on them to bring out different dimensions. Long story short, it may be a cousin of that color.

I recently took delivery of a new M4 in Tanzanite Blue recently...sorta.

Huh, I saw that 4-Series at NYIAS, but mistook it for Long Beach Blue. I’d honestly like to see Long Beach, Snapper Rocks, and Atlantis Blue alongside one another.

Snapper Rocks has a rather greenish-turquoise tint to it in light. Notice the one from Geneva and the press photo.
